MIKI EREZ
President and Founder of SKM SURVIVAL (HISARDUT) KRAV MAGA, the unique combat techniques. SKM is based on the combat system taught in the Israeli Defense Forces. Erez was born in Israel. He received Krav-Maga training in 1972 while serving in the Israeli Air Force. In 1975 he started to train in various types of self-defense and combative techniques under Sensei Dennis Hanover, a 9th degree black belt and Founder of the Israeli Survival Hisardut System. Shihan continued his studies in Krav-Maga under the direction of Imi Lichtenfeld.
Shihan Erez, is a veteran of the Israeli Air Force. In 1973, while serving in a heavy lift helicopter squadron Erez was injured and he spent the next 18 months in an Israeli veterans' hospital undergoing therapy for a broken back. His left leg and part of the right leg remains paralyzed. After several spinal cord surgeries, he was confined to a wheelchair.
Erez participated in the Israeli Special Olympics and Erez never lost the will to walk again. He began to rehabilitate himself and train intensively, using his instincts to guide him solely. In 1979 he served on the Israeli Full-Contact Karate Team of which he is a national champion. Shihan Erez received his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and has implemented his knowledge in all aspects of his professional career. He arrived in the United States in 1980, as a recognized Sensei of the Kyokushin Karate style, which later became World Oyama Karate Kyokushin Family Tree.
Sensei Lissette Albuerne Erez
A former classical ballet dancer, became interested in Karate while traveling extensively throughout Asia. In 1979, she began her Karate career under Soshu Shigeru Oyama, recognized master of Kyokushin Karate style, grand master and founder of World Oyama Karate. In 1985 Sensei Lissette relocated to Florida and continued her training under Shihan Erez, where she obtained her 3rd degree black belt. She has served as an active member in the creation of Survival (Hisardut) Krav Maga Mahleh for women and in the formation of a program to empower women and children against crime and violence.
